JANESVILLE — Janesville police say a man and woman arrested Friday evening had multiple stolen license plates in their possession and are suspects in numerous retail thefts and gas drive-offs.

The two also are suspected of stealing a 2023 white Chevy Silverado that was later recovered unoccupied. Police released a photo of the truck over the weekend.

Leah Hamm and Justin Marshall were arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Mt. Zion Avenue Friday in Janesville.

Police arrested the two who face various possible charges and further investigation is pending.

Police say they are suspects in multiple retail thefts and gas drive offs in the surrounding areas.

The search warrant revealed the two were in possession of 10 license plates, according to a news release.

Victims told police their front or rear plate being stolen, and another random plate being left in its place.

The plates we recovered included:

  • Wisconsin plates: UP6599; 291VSF; MB8390; UA9742
  • Illinois Plates: 3614373B; 3782519B; R525277
  • South Carolina Plate: VGE650
  • Alabama Plate: AL97699
  • Miscellaneous dealer plate: “ORR Toyota” Searcy, Arkansas (No plate number)
