DARIEN — A Clinton High School freshman from Darien is one of two junior golfers from Wisconsin who will be in the field of 80 competitors at the annual Drive, Chip and Putt national finals at this year’s Masters golf tournament.
Jared Romano of Darien and Abby Henricksen of Deforest both qualified at the regional event hosted at their home course of TPC Wisconsin in Madison.
The Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals will be broadcast live April 6 on Golf Channel as part of Masters Week coverage.
“It’s no surprise Jared and Abbyt are headed to the Drive Chip & Putt National Finals. Both are extremely talented and work hard to better their games, ” says Erika Pirkl – PGA Director of Player Development. “They have found themselves in the “winning circle” many times at junior events and are starting to make some waves at more prestigious statewide events. This is the first time where we have had two qualifiers in the 14-15 year old age category competing with this much experience so we are looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish come April 6.”
