JANESVILLE — After a two-year wait, a new steeple now adorns the top of Janesville’s St. Patrick Church.

The bell tower, steeple and cross were lifted to the top of the church Thursday using a large crane.

There will be a blessing of the new bell tower at 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, followed by Mass. After the Mass there will be a reception with a small cake.

The deteriorating steeple was removed in the fall of 2021 and the congregation has since raised nearly $2 million to replace the steeple with a replica and make other structural updates to the church building.

In addition to many necessary structural repairs, there will be greater handicapped accessibility and many beautiful interior renovations.
