JANESVILLE — The owner of Raven’s Wish Gallery in downtown Janesville are set to retire and is looking for new owners for the business.

In social media posts last week, owner Alicia Reid said she is looking for an artist or a group of folks interested in purchasing the gallery because she is retiring.

Reid opened Raven’s Wish in 2007 after workinf at Myers Frame & Stitch for ten years.

When the Myers retired, Reid bought the business, according to her biography on the Raven’s Wish website.

Over the years, she encountered many professional artists who didn’t have a public space to display their work.

So in addition to the framing aspect of the business, Reid turned the rest of the store into an art gallery and renamed it Raven’s Wish.

Reid started the gallery with only six artists. Today, more than 70 artists from Rock County and across the country display their work at Raven’s Wish.
