LaPRAIRIE TOWNSHIP — A semi and other large equipment was destroyed Saturday morning in a fire east of Janesville.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and area fire personnel responded about 6:30 a.m. Saturday to 7232 E Hwy 14, in the Town of La Prairie, for a working structure fire.

The property is just west of Emerald Grove.

When the first deputies arrived, they found a fully engulfed semi-tractor inside a large metal building.

Janesville Fire Department, Lakeside Fire Department, Town of Beloit Fire Department and Clinton Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

Several large pieces of equipment were destroyed as well as structural damage to the one building.

There was no loss of life or injuries to any people or animals at the residence.

Estimated damage amount was $600,000 to all property involved.

Investigators believe a possible ignition from an electrical issue sparked the fire.

Wisconsin Highway 14 was shut down between N Tarrant Rd and N Milton Shopiere Rd for approximately three and a half hours while fire worked and investigated the scene
