JANESVILLE — A suspect is in custody after police say two people were stabbed Saturday night inside a Janesville store.

Police say the attack was unprovoked and the victims did not know the attacker.

The victims are both recovering, police say.

Janesville Police and Fire responded about 9:30 p.m. to 1933 W. Court St, Walgreen’s, for two people stabbed inside the store.

When officers arrived, they located two victims with multiple stab wounds inside the store.

Officers and responding fire units provided aid and transported the victims to a local hospital.

Other arriving Officers and Rock County Deputies established a perimeter around the area.

The Janesville Police Department drone was deployed and the suspect was located walking nearby the scene.

Edward Toyer, 27, was arrested and is awaiting formal charges in court.

Police say they are recommending two counts of attempted first-degreecl intentional homicide.
