JANESVILLE — The Janesville tornado Saturday caused considerable damage to the MacFarlane Pheasants facility, leading to several escaped birds.

Residents who have since trapped pheasants or partridges may return the birds to crates located at 2821 Hwy. 51 S.

The farm will relocate these birds to a quarantine site.

The city does not encourage residents to pursue or chase birds that are not already trapped.

According to the National Weather Service, an EF-2 tornado impacted the Town of Rock and the City of Janesville on the evening of Saturday, June 22, 2024.

With peak wind gusts of 115 miles per hour, the tornado caused considerable damage to structures and infrastructure in the impacted areas.
