JANESVILLE — Beginning Friday, the Movies 16 theater in Janesville will begin implementing a new youth policy for Friday through Sunday.
The theater posted its new policy to social media on Tuesday.
Effective, Friday, July 12th, our new youth policy will go into effect for the foreseeable future and is as follows. Friday-Sunday,
According to the policy anyone under 18 will not be permitted on the property after 5:30 p.m Friday, Saturday or Sunday, unless accompanied by a responsible adult, 21 or older.
Those 18 or older must show an ID (driver’s license, state-issued ID, or passport) to prove their age if asked.
On any other day of the week, minors may see any film, at any time, except rated R films unless 17 or older with an ID.

Youth Policy Friday-Sunday:
· No individual under the age of 18 will be permitted on the property after 5:30 PM. The only permitted exception will be if unaccompanied minors see a film at showtime before 3:30 PM that ends at 5:30 PM or later. They may still see the film but must promptly leave the property after the film has ended
No minor will be permitted to purchase tickets to any show at 3:30 PM or later, regardless of purchase time.
Those accompanying minors must be a responsible adult, 21 or older, and must stay with the minors in their auditorium.
No more than 5 minors per adult.
Those 18 or older, MUST have an ID with them to prove their age if asked. If refused or you have no form of identification, you will be asked to leave the property.
Rated R Policy:
If seeing a rated R film, during the times the youth policy is in effect, individuals must be 18 with an ID. Those 17 with an ID, may see a rated R film during times when the policy is not in effect. For those not familiar with our rated R policy, see below.
· An individual must be at least 17 years old (18 when the youth policy is in effect) with a photo ID to purchase a ticket to a rated R film. No individual may purchase additional tickets for anyone else under the age of 17 other than a legal parent or guardian. The parent or guardian must also stay with the underage individual(s). Children two or younger are not permitted in Rated R films at any time.
Individuals who violate these policies or any theatre policy will be asked to leave the property and, if refused, will be trespassed from the property and escorted out by the Janesville Police Department.
