JANESVILLE — The Janesville police S.W.A.T. team was called to the city’s east side Sunday afternoon to apprehend a man wanted by Milwaukee police.
According to a news release, about 3:30 p.m. Sunday the Janesville Police Department was requested by the Milwaukee Police Department to attempt to locate a subject in the 1100 Block of North Randall Avenue.
The suspect, Patrick E. McConnell, had an active arrest warrant from the Milwaukee Police Department for a felony charge of strangulation and suffocation – domestic abuse.

When officers arrived, they contacted McConnell over the phone but he refused to exit the residence and was believed to be armed with a firearm.
The Janesville Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) Team was activated. Negotiators continued talking to McConnell on the phone and he eventually came out and was taken into custody.
McConnell currently is held at the Rock County Jail.
