JANESVILLE — Lark restaurant in Janesville will close as owners Joan and Richard Neeno focus on their growing wine and catering businesses at two other locations downtown.
“Richard and I have had seven and a half seasons with Lark and it’s been hard for us to face, but Lark’s season has passed,” Joan Neeno wrote Tuesday in a social media post.
“We have spent so much money, time and emotional energy trying to keep Lark afloat the last few years, but it is time to close this season in our life and move on to a new one.”

The Neenos made the announcement Tuesday, the same day they held a ribbon cutting with Forward Janesville for the wine bar and newly configured Lark Market.
It has added classes, catering, business gift services, and now a space for enjoying wine and has seen business grow.
Sandwich Bar also has had a healthy year and the Neenos are building out its catering business and planning events for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and evening events for next year.
You can use your Lark gift certificates at Sandwich Bar or Lark Market.
