JANESVILLE — A 58-year-old Sussex man died Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Janesville, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash occurred around 6:09 a.m. at the intersection of County Highway A and County Highway H west of Janesville. Investigators determined the Sussex man was driving south on County Highway H when he failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into the intersection, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
His vehicle collided with a vehicle traveling west on County Highway A, driven by a 19-year-old Janesville man.
The 58-year-old driver was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The 19-year-old driver was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The intersection was closed for several hours while the Rock County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction team investigated.
No criminal charges are currently being pursued.
The name of the deceased will be released by the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office at a later date.
The Janesville Fire Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol also responded to the scene.
