JANESVILLE — Janesville police have arrested two people in connection with a shooting Dec. 17, police said Friday.

According to a news release, Deonte L. Foster, 41, of Janesville, was arrested and faces possible charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and felon in possession of a firearm.

Cerissa A. Cleveland, 35, of Janesville, was arrested and faces a possible charge of harboring a felon.

The arrests stem from a shooting that occurred at 333 N. High St. on Dec. 17, 2024.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:30 p.m. and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was transported to a local hospital.

On Friday, the Janesville Police Department says its SWAT team executed a search warrant at the apartment, with assistance from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and the ATF Task Force.

Foster was taken into custody during the search warrant. Cleveland was arrested at another location prior to the warrant being served.

Both individuals were taken to the Rock County Jail.

The Janesville Police Department said it is no longer seeking any other individuals in connection with the shooting.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
