JANESVILLE — The Janesville Fire Department responded early Saturday to a residential fire on Jackson Street.
According to a news release, firefighters were sent to the 400 block of Jackson Street around 1:22 a.m. for a report of a fire.
When they arrived, crews found light smoke throughout the first floor.
The home was occupied at the time of the fire, but there were no injuries reported.
Damage is estimated at $20,000.
The Janesville Fire Department was assisted by the Janesville Police Department, Alliant Energy, Lakeside Fire Department, and off-duty Janesville firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
