JANESVILLE — A 45-year-old Janesville man is in custody, accused of robbing a gas station Tuesday morning.
According to a news release, Janesville Police Department officers were sent shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday to the Mobil Gas Station at 951 N. Washington St., for a report of a robbery.
The gas station is at the top on the Memorial Street bridge.
Police say the suspect left before officers arrived, but witnesses were able to obtain license plate information from the suspect vehicle. No one was injured and the suspect left with an undetermined amount of cash.
Shortly after, officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the 800 block of Prairie Ave., Janesville.
The officers then located the suspect at a residence in that same area.
He was arrested for robbery and will be held at the Rock County Jail pending his initial appearance.
