EVANSVILLE: The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says three people are in custody in connection with their ongoing death investigation from Sunday in Evansville. They are:
- Hunter J. Drefahl, 26, Evansville
- Alyssa A. Ahrens, 20, Evansville
- William S. Drefahl, 44, Evansville
Formal charges will be filed when they appear in court. Hunter J. Drefahl and Alyssa A. Ahrens will attend jail court either today or tomorrow, according to the sheriff’s office.
No other circumstances regarding the death were officially released by authorities along with the Tuesday update.

According to a news release, Evansville Police Department andFire/EMS responded about 9 a.m. Sunday to the 300 block of South Madison Ave. for a report of a subject that suffered a gunshot wound.
When officers arrived, they immediately began first aid.
The person was then taken to a local hospital for further treatment but later died.
The Evansville Police Department requested the Rock County Sheriff’s Office to take lead in the investigation. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident, and it is ongoing.
