ROCK COUNTY — A woman is dead and four passengers were injured in a crash Thursday night near Newark in rural Rock County.
According to a news release, Deputies with the Rock County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of W Skinner Rd and S Moraity Rd in the Town of Avon for a single vehicle crash with injuries.
Investigators learned that a vehicle was traveling eastbound on W Skinner Road when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.
A 26 yearold Orfordville woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
An adult man and three juvenile passengers were taken to area hospitals for injuries sustained in the crash.
The Orfordville Fire Department, Brodhead EMS, Brodhead Police, the Green County Sheriff’s Office, the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team assisted with the incident.
The name of the deceased will later be released by the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office.
