This year’s Memorial Day ceremonies, as shared by the Janesville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau:
May 25 at 7-7:30 PM | Janesville Tank Company Remembrance Ceremony: a service to honor all veterans and remember, in particular, the sacrifices of the Janesville 99, the tank company that endured the Bataan Death March and imprisonment in Japan.
May 26 at 8 AM | Memorial Day Ceremony at Oak Hill Cemetery: a short ceremony will be led by members of VFW Post 1621 in the veterans section of the cemetery.
May 26 at 9:30 AM | Memorial Day Ceremony at Milton Lawns Memorial Park: a short ceremony will be led by members of VFW Post 1621 at Milton Lawns Memorial Park and Chapel Mausoleum.
May 26 at 11 AM-1 PM | Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony: the parade will feature our high school bands, various veterans units, and members of the National Guard, with stops at the Doughboy statue and on the Rock River bridge, and end at Veterans Plaza in Traxler Park.
