TOWN OF LA PRAIRIE — A 2-year-old was med-flighted to a hospital Sunday with life-threatening injuries sustained in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 14 east of Janesville.

According to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded just after 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, to a report of a three-vehicle crash with multiple injuries on U.S. Highway 14 and S Van Allen Rd in the Town of La Prairie, east of Janesville.

Investigators say a GMC Terrain operated by a 25-year-old man from Milton was traveling east on Highway 14 and began to slow down and signaled to make a left-hand turn, north onto S Henke Rd.

A Cadillac XT5, operated by a 56-yearold man from Janesville was driving directly behind the GMC.

Authorities say the Cadillac failed to slow down and struck the rear end of the GMC. The impact caused the GMC to spin in the intersection and strike the side of a Jeep Gladiator traveling west on 14.

A two-year-old child was in the first vehicle and was transported via med-flight after sustaining
life-threatening injuries from the crash.

All other occupants involved in the crash suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals where they were treated and released.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene.
This case is considered still open and further follow-up will be conducted.
