UPDATE: Janesville police say three people are dead and one is critically injured following a shooting Tuesday morning at a Janesville apartment complex. READ HERE from the police news conference.
JANESVILLE — Dozens of law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies are on the scene on Janesville’s east side following an incident late Tuesday morning.
As of 12:30 p.m., the area is secure in the 2500 block of Holiday Drive, however police so far have not revealed what happened.
A news conference is schedule for 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say there are no credible threats to the community at this time.
The apartment building is across from Kiwanis Park near Woodman’s on the city’s east side.
Police were seen huddling near the entryway of one of the apartment buildings, while nearby the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and the Beloit Police Department had set up their mobile command posts.
Earlier, police said they were conducting an active investigation in the 2500 block of Holiday Drive and were asking the public to avoid the area.
