BELOIT — Beloit police say an SUV driven by a 43-year-old Janesville man collided Monday with a pedestrian, an older adult male, who was in the crosswalk area.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV stayed on scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation.

An investigation into the accident is currently active as of Monday afternoon and ongoing at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Inman Parkway.

Due the preliminary nature of the investigation, police are limited in details that we can share at this time.

Wisconsin State Patrol is currently completing the accident reconstruction at the site.
