JANESVILLE — The Janesville Police Department this week welcomed K-9 handler Officer Dylon Hansen and Tango, the newest addition to the department’s K-9 Unit.

K-9 Tango, a 1-1/2 year old Belgian Malinois from Europe, recently completed an intensive training in drug detection, tracking and criminal apprehension with Hansen at Canine Deployed in Lafayette, Indiana.

K-9 Tango and Hansen are assigned to second shift patrol, the JPD SWAT team, and are ready to assist law enforcement agencies throughout Rock County, according to a news release.

“We extend our sincere thanks to Janesville Home Depot, Lloyd’s True Value, King Concrete, Lycon Inc., and others who generously provided support and donations, including Tango’s new kennel. Your partnership plays a vital role in the success of our K9 Unit,” the department wrote in a social media post.
