JANESVILLE — Work is resuming this week to install new storm sewers under the railroad tracks near the 5 Points intersection in Janesville.
Work is expected to continue day and night for the next three weeks.
According to the Wisconsin DOT, crews on site this week are working to remove the pavement around the railroad tracks.
Upcoming Construction Operations:
- Anticipated for early next week – Crews will be on site working near the railroad tracks to install temporary shoring for completion of the jacking and boring for the storm sewer under the tracks. Please note that due to railroad requirements the operations starting on 9/29 will occur continuously day and night, for up to 3 weeks, until the completion of the underground work near the railroad. The construction operations during this timeframe may be loud and disruptive during the overnight hours.

- Traffic is currently in Stage 2 traffic pattern through the intersection.
- Please drive with caution through work zone with construction activities picking up in the upcoming weeks.
