BELOIT — Beloit police were searching for a suspect Thursday after an early morning shooting that killed one man and injured another on the city’s east side.

According to a news release, officers responded about 3 a.m. to the 1500 block of White Avenue for a report of a shooting where they found a 51-year-old Beloit man who had been shot.

That man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A second man, age 41 of Beloit arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound from the same incident, police say.

His injury was non-life threatening.

Police say this was an isolated incident that occurred inside the home.

A group of people were together prior to the shooting incident and police are looking to talk to any witnesses to help identify the suspect.
