JANESVILLE — Janesville will join communities throughout the country Saturday to peacefully protest the policies of the current administration.
The “No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings” rally is set for 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 at the corner of Main and Court streets in downtown Janesville.
The nationwide day of action and mass mobilization is in response to increasing authoritarian excesses from President Donald Trump and his allies.
Concerned citizens have watched as the administration has cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens and defied the courts.
Organizers are planning events in all 50 states, channeling the summer’s energy into another coordinated mobilization.
Major gatherings are expected, including a scheduled demonstration in front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington.
The American Federation of Government Employees, among other groups, has encouraged its members to join the protests.
