JANESVILLE — A motorcyclist is dead following a crash Saturday on Janesville’s near east side.
According to authorities, Janesville police and fire were called to the 100 block of S. Garfield Ave. shortly before 3 p.m. for a traffic accident with injuries involving two motorcycles, according to a Janesville Poluce Department news release.
Investigators say a group of motorcycles were traveling southbound on South Garfield Avenue from East Court Street.
The driver of one motorcycle struck a legally parked vehicle while traveling southbound.
The driver of a second motorcycle struck the motorcycle which was in the roadway from the initial crash.
One motorcycle driver died as a result of injuries from the crash and a second was treated and released from a local hospital.
The names of the drivers will not be released pending notification of the family.
