JANESVILLE — A new gift shop is coming to downtown Janesville early in 2024.
Scarlett’s Charm will focus on entertaining essentials and gifts, according to a social media post shared Sunday.
Think barware, glassware, serveware, flatware and everything you need to dress a table, kitchen gadgets and creative gifts. The owner’s oyster shell art also will be available.
The shop will be located next to O’Riley and Conway’s Irish Pub and is expected to open in the spring of 2024.
According to the social media post, Scarlett’s Charm’s story began when the owner was laid off two weeks before returning from maternity leave in 2020.
She says she saw an ad for a store selling oyster shells that were decoupaged with beautiful designs and hand painted with gold leaf.
The owner began making designs of her own and gave them to friends and family and before she knew it, she says stores downtown were carrying them and from there it took off.
Renovations have begun on the 1870’s era building with a goal of opening in April or May.
