EVANSVILLE — Power was out in Evansville roads were closed after a reported tornado moved swiftly through the area Thursday evening.

Highway 14 between Tolles Road and Territorial was closed Thursday evening because of debris in the roadway, according to 511.wi.

“Power in Evansville is currently out. Evansville Water and Light is aware and is working on the issue. There are reports that cell phone towers are also down. We do not have a timeline for when the power will be restored,” wrote the Evansville Police Department on Facebook about 6:30 p.m.

According to scanner traffic, people are being asked to stay away from northwest Rock County where multiple trees and power lines are down.

Tolles Road north of Highway 14 was shut down because of downed power lines and reported damage to possibly two homes, according to scanner traffic.

According the the National Weather Service in Milwaukee, multiple reports began coming in about 5:30 p.m. of funnel clouds near Highway 59.

At 5:37 p.m., there was a reports of tornado on the ground tracking northeast on the north side of Albany.

At 5:41, p.m. there were reports of a funnel near Footville with reports of debris above the tree line.

At 6 p.m., reports of roof damage and large trees snapped.
