BELOIT — Jack Farina, who entertained southern Wisconsin for decades as leader of the Jack Farina Big Band, passed away Saturday at age 89.

In 1968, he started the band, which still plays the first Sunday of every month at the Grand Avenue Pub. 

Over the years the band has played at various places in Janesville, performed at the Phoenix Park Bandshell music series in Delavan as well as the Walworth County Fair.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Jack will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024 in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Rd., Beloit, WI, with Fr. Lawrence Oparaji officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday in the church.
