UPDATE: Janesville Police Department
Janesville police were sent to a follow-up investigation about 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of S. Franklin St. A citizen contacted law enforcement and informed officers that they knew the identity of the Robbery suspect from earlier in the day.
Officers located the suspect, a 17-year-old, at an address in the 600 block of S. Franklin St. and took him into custody. Officers drafted a search warrant for the suspect’s residence, which was authorized by a judge.
A subsequent search of the residence yielded evidence of the robbery and a fiream. The suspect was processed at the Janesville Police Department and later transported to the Rock County Jail where he is awaiting an initial appearance. The incident remains under investigation.
JANESVILLE — Police are on the lookout for an armed man who they say robbed an east side gas station Wednesday.
Janesville Police said in a news release that they responded about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to Lion’s Quick Mart at 104 E Racine St. for a robbery.
Police say the man entered the gas station demanding merchandise and threatening he had a gun. He fled in a northwest direction towards the river on foot.
Police released a surveillance photo of the robber.
