JANESVILLE — A Janesville man died early Wednesday in a crash near Afton.
According to a news release, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office along with other emergency resources responded about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday to a single vehicle traffic crash at S River Rd and W Happy Hollow Rd, in the Town of Rock.
Investigators say a Chevrolet Silverado operated by an 18-year-old man from Janesville left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The driver who was the sole occupant of the truck was declared dead on scene.
No other vehicles or people were believed to be involved in the crash.
The name of the deceased will later be released by the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The crash investigation is ongoing.
