JANESVILLE — Thinking about making a difference in Janesville? Beginning Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, candidates can begin circulating nomination papers for the upcoming Spring Election.

Three Janesville City Council seats are on the ballot on Tuesday, April 7, 2027, and all are elected at large to serve the whole community.

The three seats are currently held by council members Paul Williams, Larry Squire and Aaron Burdick.

Nomination papers, declaration of candidacy forms and campaign registration statements are due to the City Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026.

Among the issues that likely will dominate the campaign are a proposed data center for the former GM/JATCO site and housing development within the city.
