ROCK COUNTY — The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department on Friday released the names of the two people found dead the day after Christmas in a home in the 2300 Block of North Marsh Road in the Town of Magnolia.
Tamie M. Borgwardt, 53, and Jeffrey A. Borgwardt, 54, who lived in rural Evansville, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Forensic autopsies took place between December 27, 2025 and December 29, 2025.
The cause and manner of death for the two people are pending at this time.
Additional testing is underway. This incident remains under investigation by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office and the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department
According to a news release, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office was sent about 4:50 p.m. for a welfare check.
Deputies arrived on scene and received no answer at the residence.
When they entered, deputies say they discovered the Borgwardts dead inside the home.
This is an ongoing investigation by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau and the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office, and there is no further information at this time.
There is no threat to the public, according to the sheriff’s office.
