JANESVILLE — After seven summers, the Janesville Town Square Gran Prix will not return in 2026, organizers announced Friday.
According to a social media post, the race existed because of the dedication, vision and persistence of Paul Murphy and John Westphal.
Bringing a Tour of America’s Dairyland race to Janesville was no small task. Year after year, they found ways to make this stop special, from our beautiful downtown course to primes that attracted top riders from around the world.
Over time, rising costs, volunteer challenges, and the realities of sustaining a large-scale event made it harder to continue at the level this race deserved.
Organizers say they are incredibly grateful to the sponsors, volunteers, partners, racers, the Tour of America’s Dairyland, and the community who showed up year after year.
