JANESVILLE — Hundreds of participants are anticipated at a peaceful protest at Janesville’s third No Kings rally on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Organizers noted that the first No Kings rally last June in Lower Courthouse Park attracted about 500 participants, and that number doubled at the October No Kings. Nationwide, estimates were 5 million in June and 7 million in October, the biggest such event in our nation’s history.

According to a news release, the Janesville rally against illegal and immoral acts by the federal government starts at 10 a.m. with a gathering on the Town Square area just west of the Rock River, leading to a short march at 10:30 to the rally site, the Marvin W. Roth Pavilion in the park at Main and Court streets.

Participants may skip the march and join the main program at the pavilion, set for 11-noon. The program will include speeches and music, including a sing-along. Participants may continue to protest in the park after the program ends.

Bring signs, joyful spirits and a commitment to nonviolent, constitutionally protected protest. Kazoos and small American flags will be distributed while supplies last.

City of Janesville authorities were informed of the event, and it’s likely police will be on scene, as they were for the first two No Kings events.

Organizers of the Janesville rally are Indivisible Rock County, the Town Hall Coalition, with support from the Janesville League of Women Voters chapter.

Organizers said they are united in opposition to a presidential regime whose basis for governing is to do whatever pleases its rulers, including favors for rich friends and cruel oppression of peaceful protesters and innocent immigrants.

“We oppose this never-ending drive to create a new way of governing our country, one that resembles a kingdom or dictatorship more than a constitutional republic,” organizers said in a statement.

“This administration ignores our laws and long-held beliefs, from ‘Love thy neighbor’ to constitutional due process of law. The administration’s continued efforts to hide massive parts of the Epstein files is just one symptom of this president’s refusal to follow the law.

“This president is acting more like a king or tyrant every day. He threatens news organizations and businesses and enriches himself and his family through the power of his office in deals with foreign interests, in direct violation of the Constitution. He is expanding an army of poorly trained and poorly led immigration agents. He is buying up buildings to convert to prisons to hold thousands, rather than seeking fair, lawful and less costly long-term fixes to our immigration system.

“Since the last No Kings, federal immigration agents have killed two peaceful protesters in Minnesota and blocked proper investigations of those and other deaths at the hands of immigration agents across the country. And the presidenthas launched a war we didn’t need while wasting our precious blood and treasure for unclear goals.

“The list of this administration’s offenses is lengthy and grows nearly every day.
We, the No Kings protesters, say, Enough!”
