JANESVILLE, Wis. — A bystander suffered minor burns Monday afternoon during a fire at a commercial storage facility on South Grant Avenue on Janesville’s west side.
Firefighters responded to the scene at 2:28 p.m. and brought the blaze under control in less than 10 minutes.
According to a news release, the Janesville Fire Department arrived to find a fire in a multi-unit storage building.
When they arrived, crews extinguished the flames and checked nearby units to ensure the fire had not spread.
To prevent the fire from starting again, personnel removed burned items from the facility.
The department sent 21 firefighters to the incident, with assistance provided by the Janesville Police Department and Alliant Energy. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
