New GIFTS Thrift Shop Janesville

JANESVILLE – GIFTS Men’s Shelter announced Monday that it will move to a new, larger location on Milton Avenue in Janesville.

The announcement was made earlier this month at the group’s “Evening of Inspiration” fundraiser.

During the event, leadership officially shared that the new site will be located at 1818 Milton Ave. next to the Post Office. The current location is on Black Bridge Road.

The announcement marks a major step forward for the organization’s retail operations and its ability to provide essential resources to the community, according to a news release.

The move is driven by a need for increased space to accommodate growing donations and provide an enhanced shopping experience for patrons. Proceeds from the thrift store directly support the shelter’s programs, providing a vital bridge toward self-sufficiency for the men in the GIFTS program.

“The energy at the ‘Evening of Inspiration’ was incredible, and being able to share this news with our supporters made it even more special,” Carissa Cornwell, Community & Church Resources Director, was quoted as saying in a news release. “This new location isn’t just about more floor space; it’s about expanding our reach and deepening our impact in Janesville.”

Opening and Volunteer Opportunities

The new Milton Avenue location is projected to open its doors in July 2026. To meet this ambitious timeline, GIFTS is issuing a call to action for community members to assist with the transition. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks. Individuals or groups interested in volunteering to help make this new location a reality are encouraged to reach out.
