JANESVILLE — Severe storms have caused significant flooding throughout the area.
Multiple roadways are now completely flooded, and several vehicles have already become stranded.
Residents are strongly urged to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Driving through flooded areas is extremely dangerous and can lead to vehicles stalling or being swept away.
Emergency crews are actively responding, but conditions remain hazardous and may worsen. Please avoid travel, monitor local updates, and seek higher ground if you are in a flood-prone area.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau is responding to a large number of trees down on roadways as well as flooded roads.
There are a numberof power lines down throughout the southern portion of Rock County.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office also is requesting the public to travel only as necessary.
Janesville Transit bus service has been suspended for the remainder of Friday.
