JANESVILLE — In an abrupt announcement, Movies 16 Cinemas in Janesville says that Thursday will be its final day of operation.
The theater, which has been an anchor of Pine Tree Plaza since the shopping area opened, made the announcement Thursday afternoon on its Facebook page.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you that Thursday August 27th 2026 will be Movies 16’s final day of operation,” read the post.
“We want to thank everyone for the many years of support. If you had purchased a gift certificate and would like a refund for the balance on the card please send us an email at managers@movies16janesville.com we will be providing refunds via credit card or debit card until Sunday 9/13/26.”
