JANESVILLE — Plans are in the works for a major upgrade to the driving range and clubhouse at the former Hackbarth Hills on Janesville’s far north side.
Michael Tabbert of Level Up Golf Academy announced Tuesday on social media that they had acquired the clubhouse and driving range.
Tabbert says they plan to transform the property into the Level Up Golf Performance Center, creating a year-round destination designed to help golfers of all ages and skill levels improve their games.
Tabbert says he played his first rounds of golf at Hackbarth Hills yeara ago when he learned the game from his grandfather.
They already are planning immediate improvements, including new golf balls, upgraded mats and more.
They say they won’t be able to bring back the par 3 course, however.
The property was parceled off a number of years back and Level Up only owns the driving range plus the old hole No. 2.
The other 8 holes are no longer part of the property.
“There’s a lot of exciting work ahead, and we can’t wait to bring you along for the transformation,” Tabbert said in his post.
