STOUGHTON — A 37-year-old Janesville man died early Monday morning following a collision between his SUV and a semi on the Interstate near Stoughton.

According to a news release, the Wisconsin State Patrol responded about 5:50 a.m. July 14, 2025 to two-vehicle crash on I-39/90 northbound near US-51.

The State Patrol said that an SUV struck a semi-tractor trailer that was stopped on the right shoulder of the road. The lone occupant of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi, a 22-year-old man, was uninjured.

The Wisconsin State Patrol conducted a reconstruction of the crash and a post-crash inspection of the semi-tractor trailer.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.
