UNION TOWNSHIP — A motorcyclist is in stable condition after he crossed the centerline and crashed into a skid steer that was making a U-turn Wednesday morning in rural Rock County.
According to a news release, multiple first responders were called out shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a two-vehicle crash with injuries near North Tupper Road in the Town of Union.
Rock County Sheriff’s Office, City of Evansville Police Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Evansville Fire Department, Orfordville Fire Department, Mercy MD1 and Med Flight all responded.
Investigators say a Harley Davidson motorcycle ridden by a 71-year-old man from Brooklyn was traveling north on N. Tupper Road near W. Bullard Road.
The sheriff’s office says the motorcycle crossed the centerline entering into the southbound lane of traffic.
A Bobcat skid steer operated by a 56-year-old man from Beloit was on the roadway. The skid steer was making a U-turn when the motorcycle collided with the bucket of the skid steer in the southbound lane of traffic.
The driver of the motorcycle was ejected. Both the driver and motorcycle came to rest on the west side of the roadway in the ditch.
Due to injuries sustained from the crash MD-1 and Med Flight were requested to the scene.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported via Med Flight to the hospital. The driver of the skid steer was uninjured.
At this time, the driver of the motorcycle is in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing, but at this time nothing criminal is suspected.
