JANESVILLE — After being closed all summer for a major reconstruction project, Mt. Zion Avenue has reopened.
The major corridor on the city’s east side has been closed since spring.
Improvements include all-new pavement, curb and gutter.
Additionally, sidewalk ramps were replaced to ensure compliance with ADA requirements, and intermittent sidewalk replacement was completed at various locations throughout the corridor.
Traffic signals were replaced at Randall Avenue and Jefferson School Drive, aging watermain was replaced from Milton Avenue to N. Claremont Drive, and storm sewer improvements were completed.
The project was partially funded by a Wisconsin Department of Transportation Local Roads Improvement Program grant.
